This website is operated by M8 Studio Limited, trading as M8 Studio, based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Husain is your contact for questions about personal information and this policy.

This policy covers this website and enquiries about our marketing, creative and website services. We handle personal information in accordance with New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, business name, phone number, the service you’re interested in and your message. We also receive information you choose to share in emails, calls or later conversations.

It’s your choice whether to get in touch. All six fields are required to send the online enquiry form, so we can understand your request and respond. If you prefer, you can email or call instead and share the details relevant to your enquiry.

Our hosting and measurement services may also collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referral source, visit times and actions taken on the site.

How we use it

We use enquiry information to respond, arrange consultations, prepare proposals, provide services you’ve agreed to and keep related business records. We use website activity information to maintain security, improve the site and understand how our marketing performs.

Sending an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to a mailing list. We do not sell your enquiry details.

Cookies and advertising

Google Tag Manager manages measurement and advertising tags on this website. These may include Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and interactions, and the Meta Pixel to measure advertising and help show relevant ads on Meta services. Enabled tags may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies.

Google and Meta receive website event and technical information when their respective tools are enabled and run. They may use or combine this information with other information they hold, depending on their policies and your account settings. Hosting services also process technical data needed to deliver and protect the site.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser and manage advertising preferences with Google and Meta. These choices may reduce measurement or personalised advertising. You can also contact us directly by email or phone.

Who we share it with

Husain handles enquiries. Relevant information may also be available to service providers supporting our business, or trusted specialists involved in work you’ve asked us to provide.

Netlify hosts this website and processes online form submissions. Email and communication providers help deliver and manage correspondence. Google and Meta provide the measurement and advertising tools described above. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law.

Services outside New Zealand

Some providers process or store information outside New Zealand, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Our responsibilities under the Privacy Act continue when we use overseas service providers. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we use safeguards or another basis permitted by the Act. Contact us if you would like more information about the providers relevant to your enquiry.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access is limited to people and providers who need it for the purposes explained here. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably needed to respond to enquiries, manage agreed work and meet our record-keeping or legal obligations. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to any required retention and provider backup cycles.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access personal information we hold about you and request corrections. If a correction is not made, you can ask for a statement of correction to be attached. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.
